Three local anglers took advantage of the weather and the fish aboard the Jenna-d from West Mersea on Saturday of Mayday bank holiday weekend. Andy Abrahams from Tiptree joined with Mark Dawson of Boreham and Jamie Groves of Great Leighs. Andy took the biggest fish a fine specimen thornback of 15.75lbs.A total of 27 skate were boated all but three were released. The bonus of the day were a bass each .One of 4lbs,one of 5lbs and the largest of 9lbs going to Jamie Groves. Also among the catch were 30 or more dog fish.
