week ending 13/8/2006

What a week?what a year?What weather ,absolute crap.Got out two days Tuesday and Wednesday .Lost Thursday /Friday/Sunday .Saturday tried but not worth a mention and the weather looks to continue.Its not easy I'd like all my customers to experience the joy of good hound fishing ,they are such good sport when circumstances beyond my control allow .Tuesday saw some of my Maldon anglers enjoying both the weather and the fish .Wednesday saw some of my old customers returning. Steve Cressey drove from Sheppy for a day out.We had to move about a fair bit but we found him some fish .Saturday ,well for all the small boat anglers ect who can't get out there the inshore marks look pretty bleak.we tried the Raysand Channel ,few little bass and eels.Not much.Tried in off the Priory at Clacton ,Pouting and eels,not many so that about sums it up.This week is a busy one, booked out every day,my sponsors the oil companies will be pleased though if this weather continues and we have to cancel any I really don't know how they will cope,and of course there's me.For the first time I can remember they even had to cancel the firework celebrations at Mersea Regatta week due to health and safety and the weather.despondant report? YES!!!. Lets hope things quickly change for the better,I think but for the brief hot spell this summer holds the record for cancellations due to adverse weather.that's without trying to find the fish {but do click back on the previous reports we got some}
