Last week was good but this week was better.size wise ?

Monday two anglers wanted to go tope fishing we went off to the end of the swin biggest tope was to Paul Webb a male of 48lbs .The tope was taken in 80ft of water on fresh mackerel head also taken that day were a couple of smaller tope,two keep able bass and smooth hounds

Wednesday Eight anglers two groups of four joined together to try the thames estuary,Don't think they were disappointed we had a variety ,skate,hounds,small tope ,small bass in all a variable day nothing outstanding but acceptable.

Thursday even I got in on the act ,tope? biggest 38lbs ,Patrick had two one of 29lbs and one of 25lbs,few skate,dog fish and a few bass on feathers to round the day off.The tope aren't going crazy we waited all day for the three fish that all came within half an hour but not a bad day except for the rain we got soaked .

Friday corporate day for an insurance company only six made it including 10 year old Charlie Thompson who had a cracker.The weather was again unsettled but after a hearty breakfast at the waterfront cafe[01206 386061] and a pack lunch proprietor Gill gave them we ventured east .Couple of bouts of sea sickness but they coped well,the fishing was a bit slow and the weather fresh South West but the best of the fishing came on the ebb all caught and 10 year old Charlie had a skate and a couple of decent hounds.IT WAS ROUGH!!!

Saturday didn't know if we would even go weather 5/6 South West.tried the maplin but it was slow ,ended up on the East Burrow head and THAT WAS ROUGH feathering in a 4/5ft swell in 15ft of water you don't have to work the feathers,we had quite a few mackerel and a few bass although they weren't of any real size but we all caught given the conditions enjoyed the day no honkers.

Sunday much the same went east a few fish but the tide was really hard to fish we struggled but a few hounds one small bass a few skate .odd one was a shad caught on feathers while at anchor again not the best but one Colin Weights recorded 7 species. back on duty tomorrow cheers Dave .
