Wednesday 20th Five individuals,regulars of mine.The weather was flat calm ,never mind we couldn't see 50yards but I knew where I wanted to be and played the hunch to get away from the smaller fish inshore.with no sprats showing yet all we had to hope were the dog fish would leave us alone long enough.We ended up with about 9 skate biggest of 11lbs and 8 cod to 7lbs but all nice plump healthy fish other species of the day were of course dog fish and whiting also a couple of dabs but feature went to Dave Saywood with a nice bass of 4 lbs that rounded the year well for us.

Thursday 21/12/06 long time no see Tony previously from Canvey 5 anglers,Not the best time of the year to go specimen hunting but we went off in the same area as the previous day,the vis was better and a slight chop but we sat it out and managed a few.It wasn't fast and furious but at least the fish we had were of an acceptable size.we had Skate,Cod,whiting,dogfish and a couple of dabs .Biggest skate 10.5lbs went to Geoff Horne from Corringham but biggest cod/most fish went to Dell Jackson,every one on the boat caught and so our year draws to an end, I have a few more trips ,the Golden cod 28th Dec and hopefully on 29th Dec the 3rd and 4th Jan weather permitting we might get offshore for a look around . hopefully if we got it right after that the place will be swarming with sprats and we are up out and away till the 15th of Feb. After a bitter disappointment regarding change of boats we will be addressing that in 2007 and be able to surpass our previous plans .offering something faster and more stable.
