Very hard week if its not the weather its a struggle with fish?we lost Wednesday and Thursday due to weather,these were hire rods and children and no way could I drag them out in this appalling weather .Friday complete reverse I had good anglers but we struggled with the fish ,small tides could have been a clue although we can normally find a few in the deeper water.we  did find a few in the end but it was hard work.

Saturday only three turned out so we were down on numbers and obviously less fishing is less fish.We tried something completely different we went west in the gullies off the Maplin ,surprise no weed which was a bonus but alas no fish we scraped up a day with Paul Sainsbury from Bures found one of 14.5lbs in 12ft of water but not easy.Something different again we got a few herring on feathers in the river on the way home.

Sunday again light on numbers,well not exactly Paul Coppin a regular angler and friend brought the family ?six youngsters ranging from 2 years to 16 years plus Simon and John so we went for the mixed bag.Tides were bigger and fished the sunk.Good day ,for their age they all managed well and it was a good family fun day 12year old Jordon had a skate of nine pounds,16 year old Laura had her first taste of smooth hounds with a common hound of 9lbs. Sister 13 year old Emily had one of 8lbs while seven year old Cain had mackerel.also boated that day were small tope and horse mackerel.out tomorrow and rest of the week bar tuesday but that could be a fisherman's holiday for me ?let you know next week cheers Dave Weaving
