week ending 29/4/2007

sorry but really going to struggle to bring this weeks news letter/report the computer is out of memory and trying to use the lap top but smaller screen /old skipper its not easy but we will try ,

bit of a struggle with the weather The most we could manage was three skate for Nathan and his dad first timers with me and Charlie Peck from Nowich, also caught were a few dog fish ,whiting and small codling basically the weather won but we tried and at least all caught.but we couldn't try anything different as we'd hoped this week [SOON?]

Saturday Colin weights and son terry together with a party and fresh back from Nz so we had plenty to talk about as well as fishing .Needless to say the weather was the deciding factor North easterly 5/6 ,ok on the flood but it was rough and yes we struggled Dad Colin Weights showed the way with the biggest skate of the day around 13lbs but we had a hero on board 13 year old Paul Bachelor he caught his first skate a male of 9.5lbs overcame his sickness bout and unlike his dad got his biggest skate on board we ended up with about 9 skate with Colin taking three the most and biggest. we caught on the ebb and the flood but it was rough.we did take advantage of the last of the ebb and tried another mark one mile east this was fruitful with three of the skate being caught almost straight away.

Sunday less wind?, well slightly but more flood which suited us with the North easterly breeze.we opted to stay inshore Five new comers/rod hires including Mick Roll and son luke aged 14 and two other good anglers ,Pleasant surprise 14 skate up to 11.5lbs,dog fish, whiting and two keep able codling biggest was our second fish aboard a good healthy cod specimen of 5lbs. I think they all enjoyed the day and hopefully they 'll be back Its great to see the young ones score, always a good memory for them their fist skate and I always make a point of sending to the magazines .

Next week busy Mon,Tuesday and Wed,weather looks to play a big part yet again but the bonus is flood tide and springs which mean North east on the flood we will face into it and hopefully we should get some fish. now the hard bit I will try and put the pics on asap but on another computer but rest assured they are on the camera so anyone wanting can mail me .If Andy from Lowestoft who came last week is reading Please resend to dave@dweaving.freeserve.co.uk with your FULL ADDRESS i can then forward the pictures of you and your son .cheers dave
