Great fishingDon't have to tell you much about the weather this week, appalling Monday day off?  Tuesday bit windy so gave three of the nine booked the option to change the date which they did, unfortunately two of the other six individuals forgot they had booked so that screwed it up for everyone, I had to cancel because it wood have been uneconomical for the four remaining sorry but when you book its for real I would think anyone booking would be annoyed if they turned up and found the boat was full? Wednesday remember last week the sea sickness cure GINGER ROOT CAPSELLS from the health shop?  They work ask Rob Aylott not only did he sit out in a south west 6/7 he also had the biggest hound of the day and second biggest of the year a good female hound of 20lbs we ended up with approximately 30 hounds with many in double figures. Thursday cancelled WIND.

Great Boat FishingFriday party turned up but afraid weather more than predicted so it was breakfast and home, I hope for young Phill we can re-book there is some great sport for the youngsters.  Saturday Mike Whitely from Maldon and some of the regulars from the surrounding area.Nine fished ?well eight one suffered all day, NEEDLESS TO SAY IT WAS NOT CALM.

If only he'd taken or known about the ginger root?  Anyway hounds, hounds, hounds.we had well in excess of 40 and some good fish amongst them.  One picture shows three doubles and Micks son Ryan with one of 7lbs all boated similtainiously.  It was hectic but a lot were tagged and all returned, we were meant to be having someone from Southampton University this week to do some scanning of the pregnant female hounds but due to the weather we've put that off till next week, Hopefully? Sunday out of the six regulars only two made the trip and what a trip the others certainly missed the boat and the fish.

With two guests on board we managed over 50 hounds in total, nothing over 14lbs but lots of doubles + one small cod, two dog fish and one bass. Was it comfortable? NO SORRY but with sport like this we didn't really care.  All fish were returned with many being tagged. Some of the old school still want to bang everything on the head fortunately not these or they'd have to find another boat. One for the pot maybe but not pregnant females Not many fresh water anglers want to kill everything so what's different? some people want to kill everything but are then the first to moan if they don't catch?  or blame it all on the commercial sector, anyway great week shame about the weather but busy week coming up so see what
