weekending 30/9/2007 |
Well this wont take long? Very quite week what with our unsettled weather, parties and changing season. Tuesday saw three of my regulars out, Mike Cain and guests .The weather was foul but off we went and we tried the deep water in the wallet but no good, we moved inshore it was fresh South Westerly, we found a couple of cod but it was slow and they were small. High tide we moved to the Gunfleet sands again slow, we moved south east found dog fish and a couple of skate. We moved inshore in the river for a bit of something different? on went the feathers low tide, for a while it looked like I'd fluft it but then the water dropped clear and we picked them up bass and herring, not many herring and the bass were small but numerous but it was different for the party? Saturday ?never happened ,mix up with the party and I hadn't had a deposit so 50/50, and a reason why I want deposits for 2008 so there's no mix up. I put it on site but no takers so had a Saturday off [First one this year ] Sunday new party from the Copford area,I knew a couple of them, nine people th This coming week not out mid week, weather looks suspect but the following week looks busy I have spaces Wednesday the 10th so give me a ring asap. Regarding the petition on the front page, please sign on, duty has gone up again this week by another 2p bringing it to 9.68p per litre, we can claim this back but bye Oct 2008 our wonderfully government want to charge us 56p per litre duty making the cost the same as white, any information can be found on the rya site under motor boats and red diesel.this is going to get rid of a lot of charter vessels, commercial boats and the effect on everyone from farmers to magazines to tackle shops ,boat builders ect will be collosal.why ???? because that's what the EU has decided and our government is too greedy to reduce the taxes on white to be competitive with europe so it just wants to stick an equal amount on red diesel this will also devalue our boats. We can hopefully claim this duty back but it means to fill my vessel will be in the region of £800/£1000 per week in high season and Id' need a cash float of about £10000.???Its hard enough with the weather and the fishing give us your support cheers Dave Weaving PS ALL PHOTOS THIS WEEK ARE FROM SUNDAY 30TH.
