We got a very mixed week this week both with the weather and the fishing.

Monday two boat booking with some of the lads from Colchester Barracks after their tours of duty they needed something different and were rewarded with several hounds in all mixed day with plenty of fish to rember up to 13lbs

Tuesday It was the boys from the Met police and if anyone deserves a relaxing day its them.Newcommers,some never having fished before but again slow start mainly due to the tide but we got there in the end with several good hounds one skate and one angler wrestling with the rod after a tope run [the tope won]

Thursday bit slow although we did have different species an Alice Shad?on feathers ,mackerel a few bass but no giants and a few hounds.

Friday 8 individuals,great day ,plenty of mixed hounds ,skate,bass ect everyone caught,biggest hound about 12.5lbs seven skate up to 10lbs,four bass.[ keepers], dog fish and several good hounds.

Friday night ,yes finale got there after one cancellation but in all honesty whished we had cancelled again.We started off ok but the wind increased and we HAD TO move, It was bloody uncomfortable and the out come was a few hounds up to 11lbs ,couple of schoolies but the weather won that one.

Saturday wind dropped and we went ,not really confident after the previous night but it turned out ok downside was the place I'd been fishing for the last week alone had grown in popularity and instead of a shadow I was faced with a total eclipse,eight boats within half a mile ?say no more.We ended up with a few hounds but no skate but it was calm the ebb good the flood slow.

Sunday Tried a different area away from the crowds,We had a few, nothing great but a bit of sport,and would you believe cod.We went in the Gullies but weed was the problem,after a while the weed cleared and the hounds showed,in 7ft of water they go.lost a couple of nice fish but boated a few up to 9lbs worst bit Eric lost a stinger it did go well and Eric had it beaten for a while but lost out near the surface. Anyway Sundays boys have got a couple of spaces to Lyme Regis for a couple of days,2 days fishing 3 bed and breakfast, fancy a break and something different phone Eric on 02085957596 or mail eric.herbert2@ntlworld.com
