why is our site visited by so many other local charter skippers read on this is why? Half term holidays and what do you get?kids enjoying themselves. Its been a good week for cod and skate although the cod seem now to all but have disappeared. Monday was North Easterly Fresh yet again but with the wind from the North East and flood tide it proved to be quite fish-able .Pictured Monday was Ashley Harwood aged 9 out fished dad Geoff and all in all had a good day on skate and cod .I think it was about 12 skate and about 15 coddling . Wednesday shame on those who couldn't join us this was great fishing 3 adults two children .slight chop on the water but not enough to bother the fishing or the kids[shame about one dad?]anyway both the kids had personal bests seven year old Conor Wey caught his first skate and eleven year old Michal Webb from Wickford got the biggest cod and first skate ,a total of 22 skate and sixteen cod were boated with many skate being returned. Friday Pete and several Firemen from the Braintree area fished along with Pete's 12 year old Phil Perrin, biggest problem was good weather, flat calm and it just killed the cod fishing, its now down hill I'm afraid but we cant complain the years been good with a good run of fish,There might be the odd ones about but sorry don't count on it We topped the day with about 10 skate and ten cod. Saturday brilliant weather but flat calm we struggled a bit but for andy and his party we managed to find a few cod and skate .nothing out of the usual. And in case you miss out they had a good breakfast at the cafe 01206 386061 Sunday Four anglers, wait for it, crap day we struggled as did many others the cod were non-existent well we had a couple up to 4lbs and we also struggled with skate ,boated a few with paul Coupin nicking the sweep with one of twelve pounds but Sorry you couldn't make it Mr Miller but just give Wayne the money he had a fine bass of 5lbs 8oz and Paul Coupin boated another two around the 3lbs mark These were our first this year and a welcome site too,we are now going to see the transition from winter to summer fishing and it could be challenging for a while but so far we are still there catching cheers Dave Weaving. Monday we've all got something to learn, best of the day Ash he had 7 cod to 7lbs smallest 4lbs ,4 skate ,whiting and dog fish no one else on the boat came anywhere near .what did he fish 8/0 penel rig with three squid ,on both rods?the only thing I can think was the extra scent trail but it worked for Ash ,we also had another bass,a keeper and lost what could have been a clonker.
